The story of Poderi Aldo Conterno, one of the elite, historic Barolo producers, is a tale of great passion for winemaking that winds back across generations and crosses international borders. Aldo Conterno has been identified as one of the most excellent wine makers of Piedmont, and his wines distinguish themselves for simplicity and quality. His Nebbiolo wines remain firmly in the traditionalist camp.
This “baby Barolo” is sourced from younger (max 15 year) vines of Nebbiolo. The skin contact is limited to 6-8 days so to extract few tannins and more colour from the skins themselves, with the result of getting a well-coloured wine with a remarkable softness. Power and grace, medium bodied, mouthwatering acidity, and fine silky tannins. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, oak, tobacco, leather, smoke, licorice, clove and hints of anise stimulate the palate.
