Aged in oak casks for 18-20 months, then bottled. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc This family property is a magnificent Graves terroir located in the locality Bages south of the town of Pauillac. The 2009 is still quite youthful and displays lush dark berry, cassis, mint, and vanillan oak in its aromatics. Full-bodied and generous on the palate, there's nicely integrated but firm tannins that meld beautifully with the dark fruit flavors.
Haut de la Becade is a family estate making wine for several generations. Pauillac is a special appellation in the Haut-Medoc region of Bordeaux that makes highly sought after wines because of there balance, finesse, and the ability to age gracefully. Owned since 1933 by the Rainaud family located next to some of the most famous Chateau's in Pauillac including Chateau Lynch Bages, Chateau Pichon Baron, and Chateau Pichon Lalande de Comtesse. Chateau Haut de la Becade is a hidden gem, flying under the radar when it comes to price and excellent quality.
