The pick of the Bruno Clair Marsannays this year. Rich, deep purple with a high-class bouquet, brilliant, suave, and supple fruit, excellent balance, avoiding sucrosity and exceptionally persistent.
Decanter: 93 Points
The Clair holding is mostly in the well-regarded Bas de Longeroies. Half of the vines are a century old and 30% of the fruit was fermented as whole clusters, before ageing two winters in cask (some new). The result is not your typical Marsannay, with lovely, ripe, forward red cherry fruit and plenty of aromatic depth. The structure of the wine is compact and firm, yet there is also great elegance and finesse. Fresh, lively and pure. Drinking Window 2022 - 2039

Once again there is a lovely freshness to the cool and pure aromas of red currant, anise, violet and soft earth scents. The wonderfully sleek, intense and delineated middle weight flavors brim with minerality that also suffuses the youthfully austere and built-to-age finish. This is going to need at least some patience and it should be well-worth the wait. *Burghound Outstanding!*
